About the Event

For most of us, work takes up a significant proportion of our life. Nobody sets out to deliberately raise their stress levels at work or anywhere else, and yet for many of us chronic stress caused by our working life can get in the way of our enjoyment, performance and overall sense of achievement. Left unmanaged, stress can lead to unproductive patterns and result in loss of focus and productivity at work.

This psychoeducational workshop is an introductory level workshop intended for anyone wanting to learn stress management techniques and work towards creating balance in their life. The workshop will help participants identify personal stress factors and introduce them to practical methods for successfully managing stress through interactive group activities and small group discussions. Participants will create a plan for stress management that enables them to function at their best in the work environment.

The workshop will focus on:

 Understanding stress and identifying the sources (including work related stress)

 Changing Unhealthy Thought Patterns

 Generating Positive Thinking to Reduce Stress

 The Stress Cycle

 Coping and reducing stress at home and in the workplace

 A range of useful behaviour change strategies that will help you into action

 Decision making and effective planning including practical stress management exercises
